Managing by Trusting

March 14, 2010

A quick follow-up to my earlier post, The Project Management Discipline Is In Crisis.

Apparently I am not the only fan of the paper The underlying theory of project management is obsolete, by Lauri Koskela, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and Gregory Howell, Lean Construction Institute.

Here is another great article/book, Unlearning Project Management, by David A. Schmaltz. I highly recommend reading this book. David explains the main thoughts expressed in the original academic paper and provides additional insight into what could be the new emerging ways of managing projects, with multiple examples of how some companies are implementing this already.

-Enjoy.
